What You See Is What You Get

你得到的就是你想到的

You've heard the expression, "What you see is what you get."

你聽過這樣的說法：“你得到的就是你想到的。”

My grandfather used to say, "If you look at a tree long enough, it will move."

我的祖父曾經說過：“如果你盯著一棵樹看足夠長的時間，樹會移動。”

We see what we want to see. Psychologists tell us that nothing controls our lives more than our self-image. We live like the person we see in the mirror. We are what we think we are.

我們看到的就是我們想看到的。心理學家告訴我們，正是自我感覺在控制我們的生活，而不是其他任何事物。我們生活得像我們在鏡子看到的人。我們會成為我們所想象成的那樣。

If you don't think you'll be successful, you won't. You can't be it, if you can't see it. Your life is limited to your vision. If you want to change your life, you must change your vision of your life.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was not that famous in 1976 when he met with a newspaper reporter. The reporter asked Schwarzenegger, "Now that you've retired from bodybuilding, what do you plan to do next?"

1976年，一名報社記者採訪了阿諾德·施瓦辛格，當時他還不是特別出名。記者問施瓦辛格：“你現在已經退出了健美行業，下一步打算做什麼？”

Schwarzenegger answered very calmly and confidently, "I'm going to be the movie star in Hollywood." The reporter was shocked and amused at Schwarzenegger's plan.

At that time, it was very hard to imagine how this muscle-bound bodybuilder, who was not a professional actor and who spoke poor English with a strong Austrian accent, could ever hope to be Hollywood's movie star!

So when the reporter asked Schwarzenegger how he planned to make his dream come true.

Schwarzenegger said, "I'll do it the same way I became the bodybuilder in the world. What I do is to create a vision of who I want to be, then I start living like that person in my mind as if it were already true."

施瓦辛格說：“我會像我成為世界健美運動員那樣去做。我所做的是創造一個願景，成為我想成為的人，然後開始像我想象的那個人那樣生活，就好像這個人是真實存在的。”

Sounds almost childishly（幼稚地） simple, doesn't it? But it worked! Schwarzenegger did become the highest-paid movie star in Hollywood! Remember. "If you can see it, you can be it."

聽起來很天真，不是嗎？但他真的成功了！施瓦辛格的確成了好萊塢片酬最高的電影明星！記住。“如果你想得到，你就能做得到。”
