安赫爾瀑布位置
安赫爾瀑布（Angel Falls），位於委內瑞拉玻利瓦爾州，從奧揚特普伊山（Auyan-tepui）的陡壁直瀉而下。落差979米，為世界上落差第一大的瀑布。由於瀑布被密林遮掩，所以大多時間只能從空中觀賞為佳。

1937年，美國飛行員安赫爾（James Crawford Angel）在空中對瀑布進行考察時發現瀑布，後因意外迫降在奧揚特普伊山山頂，在沒有補給的情況下，安赫爾與妻子徒步11天到達最近的村鎮，被落後的當地人奉為奇蹟。也正因此，該瀑布被命名為安赫爾瀑布。
In 1937， American pilot James Crawford Angel discovered the waterfall while inspecting it in the air。 Later， he made a forced landing on the top of Mount oyantepui due to an accident。 Without supplies， angel and his wife walked 11 days to the nearest village and town， he was regarded as a miracle by the backward local people。 Therefore， the waterfall is named anher waterfall。
英國作家柯南·道爾的科幻探險小說《失落的世界》中，描述了一個充滿恐龍、人猿的史前平頂高原，很多人聲稱柯南·道爾的靈感來自於特普伊山的安赫爾瀑布。但簡法不錯查閱資料後發現《失落的世界》成書於1912年，而安赫爾發現瀑布卻是在1937年。傳奇作家柯南·道爾的靈感到底來自於何處，這個秘密已然被他帶入另一個世界。
安赫爾瀑布是一個多級瀑布。第一級由山頂直瀉至一結晶岩平臺，落差807米；接著又下跌172米，直至丘倫河谷地。

在安赫爾瀑布下游，有個叫做“卡奈馬”的地方。這裡有上百條小型瀑布，景色迷人。委內瑞拉政府在此以旅遊業作為支撐，修建了一條能起落噴氣客機的跑道。遊客可以乘飛機參觀瀑布區，也可以乘遊艇逆河而上進行參觀。沿途有遮天蔽日的原始古森林，山重水複疑無路之時，安赫爾瀑布便疑是銀河落九天。凡是乘飛機觀賞瀑布的遊客，都可以得到一張特製的“勇敢的探險者”證書。
2009年12月22日，委內瑞拉總統烏戈·查韋斯宣稱世界落差最大的瀑布，應以本土名字Kerepakupai Meru命名。烏戈·查韋斯說道：早在美國人安赫爾“發現”瀑布以前，數以千計的人就曾看到過瀑布。
On December 22， 2009， Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez declared that the world’s largest waterfall should be named after kerepakupai Meru。 Hugo Chavez said： thousands of people had seen the waterfall before the American Angel “discovered” it。
