小八平常發現啊，很多小夥伴們會把參加派對，說成“join a party”， ，並且自信的認為這是很地道的口語表達。其實在日常口語中，join基本上不能翻譯為參加，join a party這個用法，外國人表達的另外一個意思。。。。

為什麼join ≠ 參加?

join=加入，成為其中一員

join the party

≠ 參加派對

= 加入派對人員名單

（側重於成為其中的一員）

如果你邀請別人，說

Would you like to join us？

比would you like to join the party， 更加口語化。也可以說

Would you like to come to our party！

join the meeting

≠ 參加會議

= 加入參會者名單

（側重於成為其中的一員）

join還可以用來表示

=加入一個黨派

=加入排隊的行列

日常生活中, 參加 ≠ attend

attend the party

外國人一般不用

attend 表示"參加"

，常用到比較正式的場合使用；attend 更被動一些（被邀）比如：

的側重點不在於參加，而是

參與其中，並對活動結果產生作用

。比如參加比賽：take part in competition。
